Susie grew up in Virginia where foxhunting and showing were a way of life for her. Both Pug and Susie hunt whenever time allows. Pug was a Master of the Loudoun Hunt West and their string of foxhunters is second to none. Two of their hunters have won the prestigious North American Field Hunter Championships another was a Canadian Field Hunter Champion, while another was Reserve North American Field Hunter Champion.

Susie successfully showed hunters all during her youth and one of her most memorable horses was Whadyasay who was recently inducted into the Hunter Hall of Fame during the 2009 Devon Horse Show. If they don't excel on the track, there is always a 2nd career and he was the ultimate 2nd career horse. Every once in a while we run across a horse who just tells us it wants to be a show horse.

After making the transition to the racehorses fulltime, Susie continued to judge horse shows all across the country until her commitments to the farm's horses just took up too much time. The last major show Susie judged was the Grand Prix at Upperville - the oldest horse show in North America.
